Privacy Policy

Plain-language summary: we don't require accounts, we don't store your Psychology Explorer answers, and we tell you exactly what is collected.

Last updated: June 30, 2026

The short version

  • We do not require an account to use any part of this site.
  • The Psychology Explorer runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are never sent to us or stored.
  • We use privacy-conscious, aggregate analytics to understand which pages help people.
  • We may show ads in the future; if and when we do, this policy explains how that works.
  • We never sell your personal information.

Information we do not collect

We do not ask you to register, log in, or provide your name, and we do not collect the answers you give in the Psychology Explorer. The Explorer's question flow and recommendations are computed locally in your browser; nothing about your selections is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere.

Analytics

To understand which content is useful and to improve the site, we use Google Analytics (provided through Google's Firebase platform). When enabled, this collects standard, largely aggregate information such as pages visited, approximate region, device and browser type, and how visitors move through the site. This data helps us see, for example, that a page is hard to find or that readers leave it quickly — not who you personally are.

Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers to provide these analytics. You can limit this through your browser settings, by using privacy extensions, or via Google's opt-out tools. For details on how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising

This site is built to support advertising through Google AdSense, but ads are only displayed once the relevant configuration is enabled. When advertising is active:

  • Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • More information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's previous visits. Users may opt out via the links above or through the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We aim to keep our use of them minimal. The cookies that may be set on this site come from the analytics and (when enabled) advertising services described above, rather than from features we build ourselves. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; the core content of the site works without them.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not maintain accounts and collect very little personal data, most requests relate to the third-party analytics and advertising services above, which provide their own controls. You can also contact us and we will help where we can.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, when advertising is switched on. We will revise the "last updated" date above when we do.
